Based in Mississippi, in the midst of preparing for Hurricane Katrina, an impoverished 14 yr old girl finds out she is pregnant. The story follows her, her 3 brothers, and her drunkard father twelve days leading up to Hurricane Katrina. Definitely adding Jesmyn Ward to my list of favorite authors (Taken with Instagram)
